Canada is a wealthy country.

But that wealth is **far from evenly distributed.**

According to the latest Statistics Canada data, the wealthiest 20% of Canadian households hold **69% of all financial assets**. Statistics Canada also notes that because financial assets are so concentrated, gains in financial markets are not shared equally among Canadian households. Think about that for a second.

When stocks rise, who benefits the most?

The people who already own the stocks.

When real estate appreciates, who benefits?

The people who already own the real estate.

At the end of 2025, the wealthiest 20% of Canadian households had an average net worth of approximately **$3.5 million**. The bottom 40% averaged just **$81,650**. [Statistics Canada](https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/daily-quotidien/260413/dq260413a-eng.htm?utm%5Fsource=chatgpt.com)

### **The people with assets keep benefiting from owning assets.**

That's one reason Bitcoin fascinates me.

## Bitcoin Doesn't Ask How Wealthy You Are

You don't need to be invited into a private deal.

You don't need a million-dollar minimum.

You don't need to know a banker, fund manager or venture capitalist.

And you certainly don't need to buy an entire Bitcoin.

Someone investing $1,000 can own the exact same asset, on the exact same network, under the exact same rules as someone investing $10 million.

Obviously, the person investing $10 million will own far more Bitcoin.

But **their Bitcoin isn't better than yours.**

There is no first-class Bitcoin.

There is no billionaire Bitcoin.

And nobody gets a larger supply created specifically for them.

### **There will only ever be 21 million.**

## This Window Won't Stay the Same Forever

Bitcoin doesn't magically solve wealth inequality.

It doesn't guarantee you'll become wealthy.

And its price can fall dramatically.

But I believe it gives ordinary investors something historically unusual: **direct access to a globally traded, scarce asset without needing to already be wealthy to participate.**

That's the opportunity I think people underestimate.

Because if Bitcoin continues becoming a significant global store of value, as I believe it will, those 21 million Bitcoin will increasingly find their way into the hands of people, companies and institutions that intend to hold them.

And once that happens, **getting meaningful ownership could become increasingly difficult.**

The wealthy already own most of the traditional assets.

### **Bitcoin may be one of the last opportunities to get on the playing field while the game is still relatively young.**

What you do with that opportunity is up to you.
